AALARA is advocating for an industry-owned and industry-led Discretionary Mutual Fund (DMF).

Rather than relying solely on the commercial insurance market, the industry would collectively manage risk through a professionally governed mutual structure.

This model already exists successfully in other industries and internationally.

Why We’re Asking for Your Help

For years, businesses across our sector have faced escalating public liability insurance premiums, reduced insurer appetite and increasingly restrictive policy conditions. These challenges threaten the sustainability of businesses large and small, from travelling show operators and family entertainment centres to theme parks, wildlife parks, aquatics, adventure tourism operators and community recreation facilities.

AALARA has been leading discussions with Federal and State Governments to establish an industry-owned and industry-led Discretionary Mutual Fund (DMF)—a long-term solution that would allow our industry to collectively manage risk while providing greater insurance certainty and affordability.

Now we need the voices of our members.

The more Members of Parliament who hear directly from businesses in their electorates, the stronger our case becomes.

Together, we can Keep the Fun Alive.
