While in Adelaide, I couldn’t resist checking in at Hijinx Hotel—and while I’m an avid Hijinxer, it never gets old!
From the moment you “check in” to this brilliantly themed world of challenge rooms and laughter, you’re reminded just how creative and clever our industry can be.
We had Funlab’s founder Michael Schreiber join us at this year’s AALARA Conference, and while visiting his venues, I’m lost for words at his genius.
My family split into teams—girls vs boys—and took on five challenge rooms, each one as hilariously unpredictable as the last. We absolutely excelled at some… and totally far from excellent at others.
But one thing was constant the entire time: belly laughs, playful rivalry, and an absurd amount of fun.
Even better, our visit coincided with Funlab’s “Week of Fun”, an incredible initiative that turns good times into good deeds by raising funds for Headspace. Being part of that energy—surrounded by teams having fun while supporting youth mental health—was the ultimate reminder of how much heart this industry has.
Adelaide—or should I say Radelaide—certainly lived up to its name!
