Uniforms collected from the Goldenway Amusements office, I’m officially on the team! Today, I’m on ticket box duty at The Lunarix, while Ben’s working the gate at The Speed rides.
The sun is shining, the sky is that perfect Perth blue, and the gates swing open to the crowds. It’s an early knock-off for me (which I’m told never happens), as I’m off to attend the Perth Royal Show Opening Ceremony Cocktail Function with RASWA CEO, Robyn Sermon. It’s a privilege to hear the stories of their inaugural award winners — Dr. Rob Wilson and the late King of the Perth Show fireworks, Jim Cardile.
By nightfall, it’s fireworks, drones, Dolly Parton and showtime magic. The kids are buzzing, massive, caravan-unfriendly teddies in tow, and for once, I’m in bed early. That might be the biggest show miracle of all. I’m fast asleep by the time Ben clocks off and gets back to the van.
